Alpacas of Wessex was started up in 1999 by John Gaye and Michael Brooke. John and Micheal did and excellent job building up the company to be one of the market leaders in the industry. After years of many success and awards in alpacas John and Micheal decided it was time to move on and retire from the alpaca world .
The New Alpacas of Wessex was purchased in February 2008 which includes four partners .Many of you will already know the two working partners as well established alpaca breeders who have been actively involved in the alpaca world. Both of us had close ties with the original company both purchasing stock and using their stud services over a number of years. We recognised the potential of the Wessex herd and the strong genetic base, with alpacas drawn from around the world, and a growing herd of quality British bred stock as well as a good base of breeding females and selected Stud Males .
